Wow.
I don't even know where to begin. missionary life. is. crazy.
First off.. I was so sad I missed Swiss Days but it can wait another 2 years.. ;) Also.. the pie at the Fugitt's… I've been thinking about that all week, too.
I am so happy to hear the package made it to you in one piece. :) I hope y'all like the stuff inside. I know its not much but I thought you deserved something for putting up with me and all my ups and downs. :)
Monday, after I emailed you, we had an awesome p-day. It was nice to relax and hang out with Sister Lightheart and get to know her better. She is amazing and has a lot of patience to put up with me too!
We went harvesting and met an amazing family, B***** and her godfather, A*****. A***** reminds me so much of Grandpa Young, sweat pants, a plaid shirt, and a huge smile on his face. I immediately fell in love with him. He doesn't want to get baptized but B***** is very open to learning more. :) We love them!!! They are both from Cuba, but want to practice their English, so they speak to us in English. It's nice, not going to lie. I can actually have a conversation with someone.

Tuesday was probably one of the busiest days in my mission so far. It was crazy but we got everything taken care of. :) We visited one of our investigators named E******. He is the cutest old man. He is from Cuba as well... and he can't hear very well. I bet you can imagine how those lessons go. A Cuban man with terrible Spanish, and two American missionaries trying to talk to a man that can't hear. Its awesome, though. He is very, very humble. :) We love him. He accepted baptism and is scheduled for the 14th. Sister Lightheart and I have a goal to get a baptism a week in the month of September, the month of miracles. We are going to do it! Heavenly Father is definitely preparing His children. We are so lucky to be in this mission and get to work with these wonderful people!
We visited P****.. and he must have had a really hard day or something.. cause in the middle of our lesson he told us he needed to use the restroom. 2 seconds later I can smell smoke. "P****. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" His reply, "I'm sorry." Our reply, "God knows what you are doing....." haha It was interesting to say the least. :)
We also taught the F**** G**** family that are scheduled for baptism the 7th.. and after that they told us that they couldn't take the lessons anymore because they don't understand anything. So.. we are taking a member with us tonight so hopefully they are still on track for this weekend. We found out the wife and husband aren't married.. and sooo the kids might be the only ones baptized this weekend. I guess we will find out. So KEEP THEM IN YOUR PRAYERS!
Wednesday was a weird, weird day. No day is normal in missionary life but Wednesday was really weird. All of our appointments fell through. Not a single person would let us teach them. They were all "too busy". We were getting really frustrated.. but we know that Satan is really working on these people because they are so prepared.
Thursday we met this awesome guy named M*******. He didn't have much time to listen to our message but he told us he would love to pray with us and told us he would come to church Sunday. He was so friendly and we immediately fell in love with his happy attitude and amazing faith. We met so many people harvesting that said they would love to come to church so we invited them all! THE MORE THE MERRIER! :)
Do you remember when I told you about V***** and G****? We get a phone call and a text from them everyday because we are the only English speaking friends they have in Miami. This was the phone call this week. "Hey. its V*****. I don't get my paycheck for another day. Is there anyway that someone in your brotherhood or sisterhood could give us a box of cereal and a gallon of milk?" Uh.. we will have to get back to you on that one. :) So we took them a pizza that someone in the ward gave us for lunch. We shared the Book of Mormon with them and they loved it. They told us that they were so excited to come to church on Sunday! :) WAHOO!
Then we had a lesson with a member in the ward's wife. She is soooo ready for baptism. She has decided that she wants to get baptized the 14th and do the work for her mother who passed away 2 years ago for her birthday. :) She loves the idea of the temple. She is amazing. We love D****. :) After our lesson, Sister Lightheart and I just wanted to scream and shout, we were sooo amazed and excited. I love moments like that! :)
Friday I was thinking about Swiss Days and the Swiss Navajo Tacos. :) haha Just kidding.. but really I wore my red and white. You can take the girl out of Midway.. but you will never take Midway out of the girl. Once a Swiss Miss, always a Swiss Miss! :)
Our phone call from V*****, "Hey, how are you sweetheart? I just wanted to let you know I got a brand new Bible. Its leather bound and King James version. What time do we need to be at church?" What?? It was awesome! They are so prepared. We love visiting with them because you never know what to expect!

Saturday G**** bought a new dress for church. They are honestly so excited for church. Dream investigators, right? :) We went and visited B***** again and she was so happy to see us. She told us that she was coming to church. Yes! We love when investigators tell us that! We showed E****** the video of the Restoration and he was so touched with the Spirit. He is the cutest man I have ever met in my entire life. :) I love him. People here are just so humble and amazing! :)
Sunday, we had 6 investigators at Sacrament meeting! WAHOOOO! :) B***** walked in 2 minutes after the Sacrament ended but she was there! :) V***** and G**** were so happy to be there and V***** even "made a donation". (tithing slip) He gave it to a chubby man.. not sure who he was talking about.. but someone got some money. I think we need to teach them about the Law of Tithing. Every day is a new adventure with them. :) We love them so much!
Monday this week was a regular day and pday is today. We have to use the computers at the library for emailing and the libraries are closed on holidays. I got a library card. I'm officially a resident :) Holidays are also prime for proselyting because families are home.

We taught V***** and G**** and they accepted baptism on the 14th. Keep them in your prayers. I know they could use it. They have a lot of problems but I know they have enough faith to get over all those obstacles. :) They are amazing.
We also met this amazing family: S***** and her daughter D******-J***, her friend that she lives with, E**** and her kids, L**** and A****. They all want to get baptized and want to know more about the truth. They want more guidance in their lives. They have accepted baptism for the 14th and are so excited about coming to church this Sunday! WAHOO! Dream come true. Right now, we have roughly... 11 potential baptisms here in the next two weeks. Continue to pray for these people. Its so important.
Missionary work is the best and there is nothing else I would rather be doing. Its not easy, that is for sure.. but it is worth it! :) I love this work and I love the Lord.
