Hola!
I made it through my first week. barely. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the package. that was a life saver. i was so happy to see chocolate in there. something that i know i can eat and something that i like.
today has been a pretty good day. its my first p-day and i was so ready to email my family that i love so much.
the day that i flew here i was pumped and so ready to go. i wanted to get out here and start working hard so that i could learn as much as i could while i have the chance.
my plane left so early and i was super sleep deprived for a couple days. i felt the effects and it was rough. the first couple days here were pretty rough, but i made it through them and was able to learn a little bit.
missions are rough. oh my gosh. i have so much more respect for missionaries than i have ever had for them before. i knew that i wanted to be a missionary ever since i was 14 but i wasnt prepared for the big changes that were coming. i just pray that i will have strength to get through everything that comes my way. faith is the key.
with faith, we can get through anything... and with the strength of the atonement anything and everything is possible.
i have honestly never prayed so much and so hard in my life. but it is such a blessing to have the chance to become close to our savior and our heavenly father.
the plane rides on wednesday were nice and long but it was good cause i had a chance to write letters to all my loved ones and be able to tell them how excited i was to serve. we got here and it just started to pour down. elder avery was a host and helped me carry my bags into the building for orientation. it was soooo nice to see a familiar face!
i didnt have a companion when i went to bed and i was so freaked out. i just felt soo uncomfortable in a really uncomfortable place. on the plane rides here i met 2 hermanas that are going to my same mission and are actually in my district. they are ADORABLE! Hermana Bradley from Orem and Hermana Rowley from Santaquin. as we pulled up to mexico city man it was wild. their traffic laws. i thought i was going to die. i just closed my eyes and laughed all the way to the CCM. but im here... so i made it out alive.
my roommates are adorable. Hermana Duren is from Flordia and she is going to Provo... (so feed her if she is in your area.) and Hermana Taylor from Utah is headed to Tampa, Florida. we live in casa 17.
at dinner i saw hermana hilton and i just wanted to cry. she is so wonderful and i am glad one of my best friends is here with me to get me through the rough times.

on thursday i woke up and i had a companion, best thing that has ever happened. HERMANA JACKSON IS the world's best companion and i am soo lucky that i get to serve and learn with her for 6 weeks.
my district consists of 12 people. Elder Joubert from San Diego and his companion Elder Carson from West Valley (i think) Elder Casperson from Idaho and his companion Elder Anderson from Bountiful. Hermana Rowley and Hermana Bradley. Hermana Jackson and I. Elder Karn from Arizona and Elder Jensen from Mapleton, i think... we met his family at the airport. and Elder Doxey from Utah and his companion Elder Dunn from Idaho. They are super awesome. and I love them! Elder Joubert and his companion, Elder Casperson, and Elder Karn and his companion Elder Jensen are all going to different missions.. but the rest of us are headed to Fort Lauderdale. Elder Doxey is our district leader and he is super awesome. i know he is going to do a great job in trying to get us rowdy kids under control. just kidding. we are super obedient.
Our teacher is Hermana Garcia and she is the sweetest kindest soul ever. We really got very very lucky. We had meetings all day and it was a little painful but we got through it. new missionary orientation. i hope i never have to do that one again.

Our Schedule |
on saturday we had more meetings and taught our investigator again. this lesson went a little better.. but it was still pretty rocky. i am grateful my companion knows spanish... cause i have no idea what anyone is saying to me. its all good though.
sunday was a nice break from everything. we were able to go to relief society... IN ENGLISH and then we had sacrament in spanish. they have all the missionaries write a talk in spanish every week and they randomly call on them to give their talks. luckly for us they didnt call anyone in our district to speak but this next week.... its coming for us. we had a devotional that we watched coming from provo.. and then we watched a movie. yes, it was a church one. it was such a nice day to just sit back and not have to worry about learning spanish. i know with time it will come.. and all the missionaries here say.. just take one day at a time. so that is what i am now doing.
monday we taught our third lesson to the investigator. it gets tough because i just want to say what i feel but i cant get the words out because i dont know how to say them. i just want to bare my testimony to everyone.. but no one understands. so i just go with the flow.

i woke up this morning sooooo happy that i got to email my family and talk to them. i love you all. im doing fine right now, but keep the support coming. its rough. julia you are a rock. i strive to be like you. give me tips. i need them.
some things that i have learned while ive been here:
always keep your umbrella with you.. it rains between 4:30 and 6:30 every afternoon and you dont know how long it lasts.
remember to pray before and while you are doing everything. it makes you feel better and makes you feel happy.
the food here is super gross and yes, i have already lost a lot of weight. the rare days they have rice milk or almond milk.. you know the church is true. ha
the bunk beds here were made for smaller people. dont try to sit up in the middle of the night.. or ever. the result is a nice big bump on your head and a headache.
terra shield made by doterra oils will become your best friend and literally save your life.
be on time to everything. you will feel better about yourself, your companion and everything else you have to deal with that day.
love your roommates and district. they are your new family.
you and your companion are one in the same. love them unconditionally.
the Mexico CCM isn't so bad after all.
missions are hard so you have to learn to love them.
i look forward to hearing from all of you! Keep me updated. i love to be in the know. thanks for all the support that has already flooded in.
I will talk to you all next week.
Con Amor- Hermana Snow
